             Yorkshire Dales

The Yorkshire Dales National Park was established in 1954. Lying in the mid-section of the Pennine Chain it is a magical place.  Although the hills lack the stature of their more northern counterparts, the limestone geology of much of the area creates spectacular landscapes where high white limestone cliffs crown the fells which in turn are punctuated by the lush green valleys of the Dales.

The special nature of the geology has created some of the finest scenery in Britain such as the towering cliffs of Malham Cove, the spectacular Goredale Scar and the exquisite waterfall Jenet's Foss. There is much to explore within this amazing countryside, so begin by selecting the dale you wish to visit
